There\'s an old saying \"Poop or get off the pot...\" That\'s such an appropriate message for anyone who wants to have their own business and even more so for an internet or network marketer.
There are many inherent problems in getting going and becoming a successful marketer.
I will be addressing those and giving some tips and information on how to overcome them with just a few steps.
When people first become involved with internet marketing or any work at home business, they get excited and swear they\'re going to take the world by storm. They\'ll be the best marketer that the world has ever seen. Well, lemme burst your bubble right here and now...it ain\'t gonna happen. Why not? Well, simply because there can only be one #1 -- and I\'ll almost guarantee that it\'s not going to be you and it\'s certainly not going to be me.
Having said that, there\'s absolutely no reason whatsoever why you can\'t become hugely successful carving our your own little niche in whatever are of the internet you choose -- and when I say \"hugely\", I mean, having the ability to make over a thousand dollars a day.
Now, here\'s your first and perhaps your biggest tip. COMMITMENT! In other words, \"you know what or get off the pot.\" You must be committed to your new career.
Your commitment comes in a few areas. Commitments include:
* Education. Internet and Network Marketing is an ongoing learning process. It\'s huge. It can be absolutely overwhelming. You must be willing to learn by reading, attending seminars, spending time with others, testing, etc.
* Time. This is a HUGE commitment. When you\'re first starting out, there is no four hour workweek (except for the guy who wrote the book and is promoting that idea.) My \"four hour work week\" consists of getting up early, working all day and going to bed late. I rarely watch television, haven\'t had a vacation longer than a few days in several years and eat, breathe, sleep and even dream websites, programs, split tests, etc.
o A little side note...a couple of weeks ago I was putting up a forum and for some reason it didn\'t work. I spent hours on it and since it was the weekend, couldn\'t contact anyone. Finally, I deleted everything and went to bed. At 3:00 am I woke up and realized that I\'d forgotten to set permissions. (For someone experienced in setting up databases, you\'re snickering and for someone who\'s not, let me just tell you it\'s such a basic thing -- kind of like not knowing why your car won\'t go when you\'ve forgotten to turn the key.) Anyway, of course, I got up, had to wait and upload everything and then got the forum up and running. Well, by that time it was time to get up anyway, so I\'d gotten an entire 3 hours or so of sleep. The point of this story is that you should be prepared to put in the time. As a friend of mine says....\"work until your butt is numb and then get up, walk around, sit down and work until it\'s numb again...\" (By the way, with only 18 mos of experience under his belt, he\'s made $350,000 in the last 6 mos...)
o When you\'re first starting out, there is no four hour workweek (except for the guy who wrote the book and is promoting that idea.) My \"four hour work week\" consists of getting up early, working all day and going to be late. I rarely watch television, haven\'t had a vacation longer than a few days in several years and constantly think and discuss marketing. Funny thing is that I absolutely love it. I\'ve heard it said that you should follow your passion...and this is definitely a case of me following mine. On the other hand, you need to be willing to put in the time.
* Commitment -- You MUST be committed to being successful. I\'m being realistic here. It\'s great to be excited and enthusiastic about your new business venture, however, you\'re going to need to be committed to learning and working and actually getting in there and doing it. There will be times that you\'ll become overwhelmed, frustrated, scared, nervous and just ticked off in general. On the other hand, this is a great business -- in fact, just about the best business that I\'ve ever been involved with. In further blogs, I\'ll be addressing how to overcome these situations and giving some hints on what to do about it.
